The panelists are young alumni who each began to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams early in their careers . Each will share their journeys & reflect on ideation, key learnings, their funding experiences, building high-performance teams, establishing a company culture & more. Trevor Martin '11, Co-Founder & CEO, Mammoth Biosciences; designing a CRISPR-based methodology for molecular diagnostics & which raised a Series D $195mm round (at a unicorn valuation) in late 2021.

Increasing customer engagement is central to any effective sales-and-marketing plan, and for good reason. Engaged customers are more likely to expand their relationships with you to other transactions, and even bring new consumers into the fold through positive word of mouth. Such feel-good interactions reduce churn and boost satisfaction. Among other benefits, that offsets the costs of acquiring new customers, which can be 25 times more expensive than keeping the ones you have already. Engagement is no less important in acquiring new customers, though. Besides improving sales conversion rates, it also can deliver more qualified leads.

In an new column, "Tech-Enabled A2J", we will take a look at how legal start-ups and legal technology innovations are impacting the push toward better Access to Justice for more citizens. Whereas LSOs have found past success in reaching clients through basic tools like texting, they are now moving to more advanced platforms like document automation to better streamline internal processes. Some are even going one step further by embarking on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) projects to determine how they can help address the 86% of civil legal problems reported by low-income Americans that aren't fully resolved. Access to justice starts with literal access: figuring out how clients best receive, digest, and act on legal information. On the lower-tech end, text messaging has proven to be a successful tool for reaching those in need.

The bring your own device (BYOD) movement has empowered caregivers to use medical apps on their phones and tablets in the workplace. Robots are assisting surgeons and physical therapists. Gene mapping is opening new horizons for individualized care.
